Cancer Research: Special issue on Computer Resources

The November 1st issue of Cancer Research contains a special section (online only) focused on computer resources supporting cancer research. The purpose of this collection is to highlight freely available computer tools and resources that non-bioinformaticists can introduce in their workflows.

Each resource is described in an individual article and resources are grouped by subject matter: Genomics, Proteomics, Animal models, Imaging and Clinical, although some belong to more than one subject.

Special Issue on Computer Resources for cancer research

Most of the computer resources described in this special issue were developed under the NCI-Informatics Technology for Cancer Research (ITCR) program, that is also actively promoting resources integration.

Connections between ITCR resources can be explored using the ITCR Connectivity Map hosted on the NDEx Public Server while detailed info are available on the ITCR website.

The NDEx Project would like to thank Juli Klemm and John Quackenbush for the opportunity to have NDEx featured in the special issue on computer resources as it provides a valuable asset for the cancer research community worldwide.
